What are my employer's responsibilities to me?
Very broadly, an employer must provide a safe system of work, safe working premises, competent staff, suitable equipment, training and supervision .
Should I make a note of the accident in the firm's accident report book?
Yes! If you do not have an accident book tell your employer of the accident circumstances and your injuries. You should also make a note of all witnesses who saw your accident and if possible take photographs of the accident location and your injuries.
Go and see your GP for an examination of your injuries.
Examples of where accidents at work can happen include tripping or slipping, manual handling and operating machines.
